How does
advertising on the internet work (Pay Per
Click advertising)?
Advertisers bid on keywords
relevant to their business. The search
results are delivered in the order of
highest to lowest bid. Advertisers are
charged the bid amount when a user clicks
through. For example, if you sell DVD
players then your would use the keyword "DVD
players". You will only get charged if
someone clicks on your ad. You don't pay
just to have it there. If one million people
see your ad and only two people click on it
then you are only charged for the two people
who clicked on your ad. If the going rate
for "DVD players" was $0.25 per click you
would receive 200 targeted leads for every
$50.00 dollars your spend.

Depending on which service you sign up for
will determine where your ads will appear.
Yahoo!'s partners include MSN, AltaVista,
Excite, iWon, CNET, InfoSpace, NetZero, NBCi

AskJeeves and EarthLink. To maximize
